Project Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Project Manager is responsible for developing and managing technology projects for customers by managing the scope constraints, time, and customer communication with the goal of improving customer perception and satisfaction. The primary duties include maintaining an overview which communicates tasks, milestone dates, status, and resource allocation. Regular internal communication and cadence calls with the goal that clients are kept updated are imperative.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
- Ensure the project objectives and requirements are documented, updated, and centrally available to all team members.
- Ensure customer contact is maintained by managing deliverables to keep customers informed of progress, notifying them of impending changes, delays, next steps, etc.
- Coordinate the planning, delivery, and implementation of projects while providing quality assurance.
- Utilize project plans, milestones, and resource requirements while assigning the necessary resources, developing schedules, and tracking progress in accordance with agreed tools.
- Ensure all communication with clients is timely and proactive, whether written or via scheduled meetings.
- Understand overall project objectives and the role and function of each project team member.
- Assist with scheduling tasks.
- Organize and manage an overview of all project phases to drive on-time completion within budgetary requirements.
- Maintain project documentation and organize technical documentation.
- Escalate risks and/or project deliverables/subjects that cannot be completed within agreed time frames.
- Work with Professional Services Leadership to implement incremental improvements to the PM process and onboard these processes.
- Drive evolution of PM process by offering constructive options for process improvement and innovation.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
- 3 – 5 years’ experience applying cross-functional project management methods and techniques in a technical-services or similar organization.
- Project Management Professional certification and other relevant education or credentials preferred.
- Strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills.
- Skilled in planning and preparing written communications.
- Strong communication skills including active listening and the ability to keep cross-functional team members aligned to a common goal.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
- Ability to self-manage, balancing personal workload with capacity.
- Service awareness of all organization’s key services for which support is being provided.
- Knowledge of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide services.
- Knowledge of a wide range of IT components, technologies, and software is preferred but not required.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite.
